Ohio State and Illinois play this week in a matchup that isn’t going to create much juice one its own despite the presence of one of the coolest rivalry trophies in sports, the Illibuck.

Two weird facts prove this formerly-annual-rivalry can surprise sometimes, though.

No. 1: Fighting Illini’s last win in the series was in 2007, a stunning upset of a top-ranked Ohio State team that still managed to make the national championship game that season.

And yet since 1988, Illinois has beaten Ohio State more times (nine) than anyone but Michigan (12).

How many guesses would you have needed to come up with that on trivia night?

And here’s weird fact No. 2: Illinois’ last five wins in the series have come in Columbus (1992, 1994, 1999, 2001, 2007).
